The QuickBooks Accounting Software course will provide students with an opportunity to apply accounting knowledge to a computerized accounting environment. Accounting cycle topics will include daily and month-end entries, accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, and reporting. This 5 day Course is all hands-on learning.

QuickBooks Day 1: Introduction and Setup

In this QuickBooks course, you will learn the basic operation of QuickBooks Premier, convert from a manual accounting system to QuickBooks, setup data files and customize software settings. The training includes topics like creating, and modifying, general ledger (GL) accounts, entering and modifying company information, inputting and adjusting general journal transactions, opening and restoring QuickBooks files, understanding the Chart of Accounts, and backing up company data.

QuickBooks Day 2: Inventory and Services

In this course, you will learn how to set up the Inventory and Services module of QuickBooks Premier. You will learn how to work with the Inventory Centre, create inventory accounts, work with the Item list, create inventory parts and service items, set Units of Measure, manage inventory and service item data, and run inventory reports.

QuickBooks Day 3: Vendors and Accounts Payable

In this course, you will learn how to work with the Vendor Centre and the Customer Centre, how to manage vendor information and process transactions. This course includes topics like working with the Vendor Centre, creating and modifying vendor records, making purchases by entering vendor bills, working with Sales Tax codes, issuing and filling purchase orders, receiving, modifying and paying vendor bills, printing cheques and running vendor and customer reports.

QuickBooks Day 4: Employees and Payroll

In this course, you will learn how QuickBooks deals with payroll, and how to manage the Employees List so you can create pay cheques and track payroll liabilities. Upon the successful completion of this lesson, you should know how to set up payroll, work with the Employee Centre, create and edit employee entries, maintain tax tables, produce and print payroll cheques and pay stubs, pay vendor bills, prepare PD7A summary report, and create payroll reports.

QuickBooks Day 5: Reporting and Year-End Procedures

In this lesson, you will learn how to use the financial reporting functions of QuickBooks, how to report and remit sales taxes, and to carry out year-end procedures. You will learn how to perform various functions related to accounts receivable, how to remit workers’ compensation premiums, and how to work with data and reports in greater depth. This course also includes topics about setting up QuickBooks to work with a foreign currency and how to perform transactions in the foreign currency.
